Why CALM?

At Boys Get Sad Too we’ve always believed clothing can be more than something we wear. Our message has always been about opening conversations around mental health and making people feel seen. But while our clothes can help create change we never wanted that to be the only impact we had.

That’s why we support CALM with a donation of 10% of our pre-tax profits (Campaign Against Living Miserably) a charity doing incredible work to support people struggling with their mental health. CALM runs a free confidential helpline and webchat service for anyone who needs someone to talk to and they estimate it costs around £12 to answer a potentially life saving call.

Alongside their helpline services CALM also works to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health through campaigns, conversations, education and community driven projects. They create spaces where people feel more comfortable opening up and encourage honest conversations around topics that many people still struggle to talk about.

For so many people having someone there in a difficult moment can genuinely change or save a life.

When Kyle was struggling with his own mental health CALM was one of the charities that really spoke to him. The way they communicate feels real, honest and culturally relevant. They use youthful and culturally aware ambassadors and voices that connect with different communities and generations in a way that feels genuine rather than clinical.

That approach matters because mental health support should feel accessible to everyone.

Every purchase that contributes towards CALM helps support the conversations services and resources they provide every day. For us this is bigger than fashion. It’s about building something that can genuinely help people feel less alone.
